Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What was the conclusion ?

I didn't hear it, but coincidentally just this today had skis/bindings, board/bindings and board boots (waiting on Amazon for the ski boots) delivered for my 8 and 11 year olds. They are going to pop when they get home and see this Toofy Grin

@Gazzza, she has just done her first winter holiday to Austria and is asking if people own their own skis. It’s on air now.

We own ours and get them serviced localy Toofy Grin

Well it got to the stage where the kids are generally now quicker than me, a particularly if its cruddy, chopped up mogully, or in the bumps off the edge of the piste, so i figured it was only fair they got kit too Happy (I can't still have them in powder though Toofy Grin )

I hired some great skis in Altenmarkt for £40 for the week.
Didn't take mine as it didn't make sense; modern equipment, no servicing, no expensive ski carriage charges, no lugging around.

All I missed out on was the feeling of being a real skier in the airport queues.
