Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

How long is a piece of string? Last year the end of March was brilliant just about all over, I think, but some years it might be a little low for the end of March. The aspect of slopes becomes very important at the end of season. Early morning you need slopes with the sunshine, to soften the surface, but you also need shady slopes for the afternoon. Higher altitude is better than lower altitude, other things being equal, but aspect is key. A good place to try, especially if you enjoy long cruisy reds, is Les Contamines. The lower slopes might be a bit slushy at the end of March but all the best skiing is at the top anyway. And you can drop down over to the Belleville side, which faces west/south if the east facing areas of the Les Contamine side are a bit hard in the morning. The top lift is only 2300m but that really isn't generally a problem. At present, apparently, Les Contamines has the best skiing of anywhere round here, including Chamonix. We plan a day trip over there later in the week, if the forecast for the next few days comes true (where's the cross-fingered smiley?). How was Les Gets at Christmas, professorpool. Did you have a good holiday?
