Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

We were there over last weekend in January.

The place was brilliant, good skiing, excellent food and very friendly people + not to expensive.

Try the Beer Keller called The Weinfassl Bar with a barman called Samy it's just opposite the waterfall also a nightclub just up the road on the same side which is about 3 flights downstairs.

Joseph, we were there in January. You will have a great time, top skiing, check out the Silverbullet, Heagblomms, Witches bar, Edens for apres. Good bar, italian sounding with restaurant above in centre can't remember name of. Salzburgerhof and Elisabethpark have good bars also. Casino well worth a visit, much better than at other Austrian resorts such as Kitz and Saalbach.

Very good mountain restaurants, especially Jungerstube on the Stubnerkogel hill, Treff on Graukogel and Wegeralm at Dorfgastein.

If the weather closes in your best bet is to head over to Graukogel, all the skiing is in the trees. We had a couple of fantastic days there skiing ungroomed pistes when the main Stubnerkogel/Schlossalm area was a white out. There were only about 30 people on the hill, us and 26 locals Laughing
