Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

lucasharrison, Salzburg is probably the best airport for nearby major ski resorts.

If you have the choice, fly to Innsbruck instead http://www.j2ski.com/ski_resorts/Airports/Innsbruck_Airport.html

You will easy access to the Arlberg, Ischgl, and a bunch of others.

Do as I have done - book flights and just wait and see what the snow is looking like?

Only one 've been to personally is schladming which has a hell of a lot of snow making capacity - so as long as it's cold I would think they could be relied upon to have snow, even if mostly manmade.

To be honest you are very safe if you are coming in to Salzburg.
The Ski-Amade area has tons of lifts and pistes available (860km) and takes you as far out as Schladming. Zauchensee is a sure thing but there is loads and loads of snow canons and snow makers... There is also the Dachstein glacier and Obertaurn which will be white by then!
For a bit more info about the area click on our link below...

rayscoops, Within 1 to 1.5 hours away, I would guess that it is probably Obertauern right now, but it could easily change by the time you go. 2.25 hours away is Hintertux and that sounds very good at the moment.

Cheers Ray Zorro,

All looks rosy in the garden then rather than the doom and gloom that is getting reported, I have just come back from L2A which was great so I have the 'snow touch' at the moment and also have very good relationship with Snow Gods.

A bit of investigation into a few of the resorts a bit closer to Salzburg I think, but with Hintertux as my banker resort !!

We're off to Schladming on Saturday for a week; from the webcams it looks as if they have snow down to resort level, if not very much.

Ski Amade has loads of lifts open - loads of skiing to be had. Make use of the free buses and your lift pass and go exploring - its great. Have fun. Very Happy
