Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Offset bindings on Atomic Powder Plus?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
So I just picked up a set of Atomic Powder Plus (F-A-T skis) in Switzerland for not very much at all: early model, little used....what a paint job!!....I'm seriously in the market for a flourescent 1 piece to match!

Anyway they are mounted with Sollie 477 with leashes. The bindings are mounted offset (the skis are marked accordingly).

I've never skied off-set before and although these will probably only see action a few days a season I was wondering whether to re-mount to "normal" binding position?

I'd welcome your thoughts.....

 Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

current thinking seems to be that offset mounts were a bit of an aberration dating from when fat skis first came in. i'd get them remounted. shouldn't be a problem on a ski like the powder plus - lots of metal so they should be able to take plenty of holes

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

rungsp, what Arno says... but... I don't fancy the 477s on them... get them remounted with something a little newer. I checked the indemnified bindings list, some 477s are still good to go but for my money, they're pretty old...

Are they 180s or 190s? If you don't like them I'll take them off your hands... Twisted Evil

parlor, you may have seen them in Verb' last year, I got them from an English ESS guy called Roger.
If you've seen them you'll remember them!

Design is very "bold" and they are seriously in need of a flouro' 1 piece...my eyes will be on e-bay for a good one. wink

477 into bin I think, re-mount to center and maybe bend the tips and tails to create a bit of reverse camber...I'll try them "standard" first though.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

rungsp, I know the design but not the previous owner.

I heard wood top sheets are all the rage at the moment. When are you over? I've got a tub of sticky sticky...
