This is getting beyond a joke.
Dynastar have always made it difficult for us by indroducing their range mid-winter for sale around March each year.
But this has just gone beyond a joke, i have just been invited to test the new range for next year, before i will have recieved the range for this year. How they expect me to be enthusiastic about selling this seasons range, knowing what will be available next winter is beyond me.
Ok, normally we know what's what around end of January each year, but it's November!

Still they were probably stung by criticism that topsheet updates for the legend range don't cut it and the skis were outclassed by the competion.

Surely its only R&D test models you are getting for 07/08 not production runs so to the punter its immaterial. In Chamonix I'd fully expect a whole load of pros to be skiing on next seasons models/graphics (otherwise photo incentives are a bit pointless) as well as locally based testers.

fatbob, not sure how much R&D goes on chez Dynastar. the legend series have been around in one form or another for years (unless there's some funky stuff going on in the core which I don't know about...). not necessarily a bad thing - my 2 all time fave skis are Dynas. if it ain't broke don't fix it. hopefully they'll take this to heart and revert to the nice orange topsheets rather than the nasty ones on this years' skis

fatbob, No we're demo/testing 07/08 models. That's exactly the problem. I desperatley want to keep myself up to date and well informed, however having access to the range for next winter makes it a little difficult to focus on this year. The guys at the shop are real excited about what will be available. However the question i have to ask myself is, Will i make the information available to them, or do i keep the info back and risk upsetting them?

Tell 'em then tell them 40% of their pay is a performance related bonus for flogging current stock, and not 08 models

Okay as predicted the 4800 and 8000 get a major makeover for 2008 with a shape update and revised construction. the 8800 gets the bullet to be replaced by an 88mm underfoot Mythic. Rossi, Salomon and Volkl are also hawking their new skis around the place.
So ask for a big discount on the 8800
