Who does all the fabrication in Whistler - Prior? AFAIWA it is the only ski/snowboard factory there. Maybe some on the lower mainland where Option manufacture?

Their "big mountain" ski is a huge 80mm underfoot. Perhaps the skis will gain the same reputation as their fetching fart bags.

Love the look of the Blades.
But seriously, the problem with all these small manufacturers is that they will mostly go bust and then what do you do about spares? And servicing? I can just see the look on my mate Eric's face,
"Blades? You don't see them much these days.
(Cue Gallic tutting under breath)...
I can try and fix them but it's going to be expensive, you can't get the parts these days you see!"

David, technology has moved on sice the 1970's when you last bought a pair lol
Like cars, TV's etc... Skis aren't supposed to last forever! I budget for a new pair every year as its moving so fast in the world of Twins.
This year sees them get fatter and lighter, nice to see Salomon finally get rid of that nasty foam core and who knows where we'll be next year!
Go spend some of your hard earned and dont worry if ACME skis goes bust after 2 yrs!

This is interesting. A French ski mag listed about 20-30 companies last year. They all had specialised in free skiing...

comprex, Oh I do! Mmmh yummy.
adam_button, Mate, "twins"? Try skiing. It will make a lot of difference. "I budget for a new pair every year"? How many days are you spending on snow? (Skiing I mean). Personally I budget for a replacement every 100 days or so.
This year might be different as several pairs hit the magic replacement number at once. And I want touring kit so I can feel comfortable hiking around the un-snowy hills.
