Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Size Question For New Twin Tips

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I'm planning on getting into the new '07 Salomon Foil twin tips. I'm a fairly aggressvie all mountain skier who likes making trails in the woods and a little park action. The salesman at my local shop recommended 174's.

I'm 5ft 11in & weigh roughly 200lbs. I've never skied twin tips before but I assumed you usually go a little smaller in size compared to your height. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

174 sounds just right.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

BSM413,

I'd go longer as I think the twin-tip skis short anyway...and 174 is a small ski for 5"11, and its the 200lbs that is the clincher for me.

In Europe you'd ski longer, but in the US its ok for 6 footers to ski 170's that are not a race ski...?????

So, assuming you have skied a bit as well, you are the only one who can decide which lenght suits you best once you have demo'd them
