Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Deux Alpes/La Grave in March

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Thinking of going to Les Deux Alpes in March. A big draw is that it's linked to La Grave, BUT does anyone know whether it's a decent link, and whether there is other good skiing at Deux Alpes for experienced skiers? Also, are we likely to be able to ski all the way down La Grave to the village in March?

Also, is there much to do in Les Deux Alpes village, and is it a decent place for walking around, as I'll be taking my toddler for the first time. The other main option is Alpe D'Huez, which seems similar in a lot of ways, but opinions from people who've done both would be good.

Thanks!

If you want to ski La Grave, base yourself in La Grave. If you want to pop over for a look, it's doable from LDA but you basically have to go up the whole lift system then walk or get dragged by a snowcat over to the top of the La Grave area. It's OK if you're happy just doing one run in LG then heading back. If you really want to explore, not so good

All these places have their plus points and minus points. It depends what you're after really. I go to the area a lot and this year, I'm doing a week based in Vaujany (a cute village with a big lift into the ADH system). I'll have a car so day trips to LDA and La Grave are fairly straighforward. Personally, I like the skiing at ADH most, but it's a close run thing and in certain situations (eg crap weather) I'd go to LDA.

Arno, thanks! I found a previous post of yours on ADH, and am pretty sold on that now...
