Poster: A snowHead

This has come up on another site (ifyouski) and obviously deserves a banging of snowHeads. First of all, a couple of basics:
1. It's not included in your liftpass, which may be why you've never tried it, but that's no excuse.
2. You can spell it bungee or bungy, I think. Or do we have a voice of authority to correct me on that?
3. A lot of it is about how far you're going to drop.
Here are some photos to encourage us to have a go:
Queenstown, New Zealand. Drop 134m
Leukerbad, Switzerland (1)...and... Leukerbad (2) The cablecar is said to be 300m off the ground, but I don't think the jump fall is that far.
Table Mountain, South Africa This one's a bit different. It's the Rotair cablecar (revolving cabin floor for views) which is like the one at Engelberg in Switzerland. 90m drop.

Have never bungeed and never will.
I've heard tell that regular danglers can develop eye problems (from the sudden build up of fluid pressure at the bottom of the drop). Is this an 'old wives tale' or does it have an element of truth?
easiski, love the way the French couldn't just adopt a lovely word like 'bungy' and have to make it a clumsy phrase. Google won't translate bungy into German but 'bungee jumping' comes out as 'Federelementspringen' - sounds like something from a car advert

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

On further investigation it seems that the Nevis Highwire Bungy in Queenstown is custom-designed, with some kind of cable-suspended pod with cablecar access. More info here.
Is this unique?

kuwait_ian, Absolutely!! I notice this year that the flier for the bungee jumping is beginning to mention bungee rather than the (almost unpronouncable) french version.
