Am booked to leave on the 20th for 7 days.
The transfer from Salzburg is 3 1/2 hrs.
Have skied in France the past few years and the short transfers from Chambery have spoiled me.

I skied there last year. Good place, I think, you do not regret it. Lots of snow, and various pistes.
Write you more later.

I dunno, it is just the name... "wet field", you would think they would do like the French and rename their town to something like Super-Schneefeld 1850 or something? Still I'd rather go to Nassfeld than Asfeld.

It was really wet last year. It snowed a lot.
Perfect snow condition even in the middle of April.
Excellent pistes, similar to other top ski resorts in Austria.
Lot of chairlifts, 100 kms piste.
Interesting to taste the same food on the Austrian or Italian side. They call it the same, but taste different.

I've never heard of it .. be interesting to see what you think as it looks pretty close to Klagenfurt where Ryan Air fly. In fact you might have been better off flying there instead of Salzburg ... £25 incl taxes on the dates you're going.

Thanks for the advice Kerekip and for the info RichA.
Flying Ryan Air would mean travelling down to Dublin but at that price it might have been worth it.
We're staying in the Cube hotel, the whole package including the flight supplement and lift pass came in at £420.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

coolhandluke, only been there in summer mountain biking. Beautiful place. Some of my friends here in Munich rate it for skiing though, and go there regularly in winter. I guess you would have been better served by flying in to Villach or Klagenfurt. Salzburg is a long way!

You know it makes sense.

Just checked and Ryanair dont fly from Dublin to Klagenfurt are Villach so it would have not really been an option.
From Belfast i find that a package is usally the best option.
