Just looking at my quiver of skis for this winter:
Gotama, Seth, Mantra, B3, Afterburner, Enforcer, Ethic, Crossbow and more to come.
Anyone got any swaps?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

What's wrong with the green fairy monster?

Would quite like a quiver like that but then I'd never get to take more than a couple of pairs anywhere and the rest would feel neglected Having tried the Nitrous I can see the attraction of the Afterburner as a hooning around widish piste/general crud ski.
Do the Seths & Mantras really do different jobs or is it like the fairer sex with shoes?

fatbob, Go on, tell them which skis you had the most fun on at the PSB (clue: they were not that wide, and they had a 9 in there somewhere)

OK on the Saturday the skinny RX9s, on the Sunday the slight less skinny Nitrous. I'd be happy to buy either as an all round piste ski.

Are the RX9s stiffer than the RX8s? I tried out some RX8s at MK X-scape and was non-plussed

Arno, 9s stiffer that 8s. Can imagine the 8s being too soft for some on the steeps of MK

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

I have just brought the RX fire which as a piste ski does the business for me over the 8 or 9

I didn't see the Fire on the rack at the time but I'm sure they'd have been good. My direct comparision that day was with a Head GS world cup racestock ski so obviously the Fischers were a bit more "versatile"

You know it makes sense.

I used the Fire and great fun it was too... They guys on the stand said it was a slightly better ski than the WC SC..!!
The Bliizard World Cup SL was better IMO

What confused you about the RX8s? They are quite wonderful skis... if you like lively, turny carvers...

ssh, I hired some Scott P3's for the PSB and really liked them. Then tested some RX8's and my face lit up. Luckily I also own some RX8'S. Bizzare to test your own skis, but also gives you a know to compare to.

ssh, i wasn't confused by them - just a bit disappointed after some of the glowing reports i'd seen on here. I'm pretty big (95kg-ish) and probably rely more on strength than finesse and felt that they just weren't stiff enough for me - I was expecting a bit more of a solid race feel to them.
