Were those jumps au naturel ? All looked a bit suspiciously ramp shaped ....

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Wouldn't you see tracks if someone had skied there and created ramps though Brian?
Anyone know who the skier is and where he is skiing (and smartass replies like "Tignes" aren't allowed)?

kitenski, look like prepped ramps to me. Possibly built before a storm to let them cover & hide previous tracks + test runs. The first couple of frames show a previous drop-in dissapearing under fresh snow.
It is an advert for a ski resort so they will have spent some time & cash getting it right.

aye, just watched it again and agree, all 3 are prepped ramps, still very impressive all the same!

Is that the video Fox showed Smallzookeeper just so that he could get a pair of expert ski boots?

It seems to be from Balme in La Clusaz. Skier is the local boy Sebastian Michaud.

Sorry If it blindingly obvious, but how one earth do you get up to somewhere like that to start from. Do these guy's hike up the mountains carrying their gear?
B.t.w. does he nearly lose it on the landings or is it just where he digs in deep as he lands.
On second thoughts does it matter? He does look pretty awsome!

demos, I wasn't convinced about his right arm position on the third turn. And did he have a beeper, shovel and a HELMET on?

David Murdoch, Well, I have an issue of his waving on top of Balme. This bothers me most. Furthermore, from the third turn on, where also his knees are not totally aligned (sic!), he then starts to destroy the snowcover of the top part of the mountain, thus having to ski too fast on flat instead turning gracefully and enough to my tast.

Megamum, you've got to hike if you want to earn your turns. A pack that you can strap your skis to is essential.

Megamum, it may be off the back off a lift or he may have done a bit of walking. Quite a few snowHeads do a lot of off-piste, davidof runs the pistehors.com website and every so often posts on his day trips, which normally involve a little uphill skiing in the wilderness. philingles at www.philingle.com is a bit more bonkers and his photo stories give me vertigo
