PG, that link never opened after a long wait.
Here's the Eurostar home page http://www.eurostar.com/dctm/jsp/index.jsp
Try from there people. Probably not as quite cheap as low cost flights but you can win 2 extra days skiing and take whatever kit you can carry - and it won't get lost. BTW the fares are in Euros - not £.

I managed to make it come up once- by just putting in Adults not Youths- think thats the prob, theres just Adult and Child Seats so if you put anything else in - it gets confused!

kuwait_ian, I'd check about your 'unlimited luggage' point. It may apply to chartered Eurostar trains (I don't know) but it certainly doesn't apply to scheduled Eurostar trains.

PG, or anyone else that know..........where would you stop off for Courcheval?
From the article it suggests that the resort is a short bus ride from the train station, anyone know how often these run and till what time of the day or is it that they are designed with the trains in mind?
Planning a trip to Courchevel late Jan next year.

Moûtiers - maybe 20 mins up to Courchevel (bit more to 1850) (by car, don't know about the bus transfers)

Thanks for flagging that up, David. I think I was paraphrasing from the ifyouski article. You're right of course, it's not unlimited but is much more generous than any airline. From the Eurostar site itself ....

Baggage
There's no separate check-in for baggage on Eurostar, as long as you’re carrying no more than two bags or cases and one item of hand luggage per passenger.
For more information about excess baggage, registered baggage and how to transport large items like trunks, bicycles etc. please click on 'services', then 'special travel needs'. |
If this link works it shows the snowtrain fares but completely fails to explain which Leisure Fares apply to which dates. What a useless web site.

Ian, I think the difference is not the dates, but the flexibility, the link didn't work, but I think I got what you were looking at.
Here's the notes:
Ski Flexi
Exchangeable up to two months after booked departure.
Refund before departure only 80 per cent.
Valid on day or night service.
Leisure Day/Night
Non-exchangeable
Non-refundable.
Compulsary return, Saturday night away.
EDIT: d'Oh, just re-read what you wrote, and what their page says. I agree with you - no info on what applies when!
