Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ok tech people , this is one of my boots(Nordica) with a split in it . I put a little hole at the end of it to stop it growing but that hasn't worked. my question is , is it time to go shopping? trouble is these boots have been comfy from day one and i'm worried that replacements might not be

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

mistermouse, I'm no expert, but I think a split at that point on the boot's cuff is likely to have quite a large effect on its flex. Do you notice that it is easier to flex your ankle forward in that boot compared to the other?

SMALLZOOKEEPER, is that what prob caused the split? they have been my first pair of boots and i have had no other probs with fit (ie all day wear and no pains).i think i'm just convinceing myself to get new boots, maybe i should come to the boot clinic?

You definitely need a new pair. I wouldn't say its necessarily down to the volume of the boot. if you've had them ages then certain plastics will weaken over time purely from exposure to sunlight etc. Think of your plastic garden chairs - they do go brittle after a while and unfortuantely the same thing, albeit perhaps to a lesser extent, does happen to ski boots.

The old Tecnica TNT explosions used to do just that - explode- saw loads of those with massive cracks in.

Anyway new boots for you i'm afraid
