joshua, How fast a ski is tends to vary from one ski to another even in the same model IME. However, how well do you look after them? Do it right, wax and repair them regularly (racers do it daily), and your old skis will be much faster. You can also get your bases restructured at some shops to help with this (I had it done to my Fischers). Also, are you talking straight line speed or turning speed, or speed of turn? Your question is about as long as a piece of string! Are you actually carving (mush faster), or scrubbing off speed in the turns? For pure straight line speed you would be better with a SuperG ski, (if you can get them), but then you'd also have to be very competent to turn them sensibly on crowded pistes!
