Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

stuarth, I assume you've tried doing a web search?

We got ours at www.facewest.co.uk but they seem to have stopped stocking them. Google returned http://www.outside.co.uk but I think we paid a bit less (we bought in small (x5?) bulk).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I think the SZK started a thread about them

MEC in Vancouver, Escape Route if you're in Whistler. Used to be quite popular in snowboard shops IIRC Burton rebadged it as a RED product.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Cheers guys. Unfortunately (or fortunately actually!) I need it before I get out to Whistler this year so can't get one from Escape Route (though I'm not sure they still do them as I only noticed DTS trackers last year).
Did do a google on them but didn't find any uk suppliers, I'll give the ones mentioned above a try.

JT,
Yep seen those. Not sure I really want/need to spend the extra on a Pulse though, the normal one should do just fine - if I can find one to buy! snowHead

stuarth - try www.snowbigdeal.com who offer a free shovel or probe. They ship to the UK.

PhillipStanton, great link... if you have used them, did you get stung a lot for tax/customs?

I've not used them stoatsbrother, but I have a friend who has and was very happy with the service.

They also do special offers on www.ebay.com - although they don't have any at the moment.

It's always best to factor in tax / customs and treat it as a bonus if you don't pay it. I've no objective basis for saying this, but I do think that I used to get away without paying tax / customs a lot more than I do now.

You should also factor in a £10-£15 customs handling fee at this end, which the carrier will charge.

Escape Route did stock them, but didn't see any last season. However Whistler Heli Ski shop (next to Roots in the Crystal Lodge) have plenty of units for sale behind the counter.
