My name is Rob, and I'm an intermediate level skier as well. I often feel intimidated by the expertise displayed on this forum, although I think there's no shame in being an intermediate.

STOP, STOP, STOP. What is a F@CKING Intermediate skier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you mean "I ski better than when i first started, i want to improve but the progress is slower than when i first started?"
Fine that means your an 'Inbetween Skier' honesty is the first step to progress, skiing isn't about who's best, it's not about the size of your skis! IT'S THE SIZE OF THE SMILE and FEELING OF REWARD!
Aghhhhhhhh! Next person to mention INTERF@CKINGMEDIATE shall be shot!
I think i might get shot for this!

I own a pair of Salomon skis. It appears that this is considered a Bad Thing around these parts, even though I'm perfectly happy with them. If that makes me an intermediate level punter, then so be it.

Someone who isn't a "beginner" and isn't an "expert". It's so wide a definition that it's meaningless.

You know it makes sense.

Bit like "in between"

My name is Hels_t and I'm a novice skier but I have lots of fun and have got more scope to improve than all you intermediates so I don't feel in the slightest bit inferior!!

I quite like the definition of an "inbetweener". No matter how bad I am, how many times I fall, how long it takes to get my ski back on when I've fell on a deep snowy black, I'm still smiling by the time I get back to the bottom and I've had fun. Improving only adds to the enjoyment.

My name is Marc and I'm an INTERF@CKINGMEDIATE skiier.
I'm not sure what it means, but I'm sure I am one.
I have Salomon boots. I sold my B2's but it didn't help my technique one bit.

I'm an indeterminate skier - "if we ski down there will we get to that restaurant that does donkey's ears*, er or is it this way? No, probably that way."
* this is not actually the ears of a donkey, it's a Swiss chard sort of veg in a creamy/cheesy sauce.

I'm an intermediate.
To me that means I've enough ability to no longer be classed as a beginner but I also know that I'm doing so much wrong that I'm no where near being an expert.
I'm happy where I'm at but would like to be a bit better.

I'm an expert skier.
I have fun on the slopes. I smile, laugh and sing when skiing. I don't take it too seriously, but I do want to enjoy it even more. (They say chocolate is a substitute for skiing, I've tried, and it's quite difficult to get bits of flake out of your bindings.)

I'm also an INTERF@CKINGMEDIATE skier, but I generally hope that with each trip I will become a better INTERF@CKINGMEDIATE skier so I can manage quicker ways to the restaurant and go more scenic places than crowded pistes!
* Realised I will never be an EXPERT or ADVANCED skier because I don't have the money nor the time (both in age availability and work commitments) to compete with those who live near snow in winter and have been skiing more days each year since their 4th brithday than I ever will in my life ... (Not my dreams!) Doomed to just being different degrees of INTERF@CKINGMEDIATE!
