What is a PUNTERS ski?
A punter is someone, whom we find easy to deal with. Someone informed and prepared to follow the norm' for a hassle free holiday. Our bread and butter, someone whom doesn't ask a bunch of dumb questions just to arrive at the original solution.
A B2/B3 is a PUNTERS SKI. It does everything well, it's accesable. We buy them in spades, they please everyone and everyone skis them.

SMALLZOOKEEPER, they don't please me. Or my friend Sally with the Rhinestone trimmed ski pants...
I think I can now recognise your thread titles at 100 metres

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

A ski that sold massively in the late 1960s, because it seemed to answer every keen skier's aspirations, was the Rossignol Roc 550. It had a flex pattern that was relatively firm underfoot, with a soft shovel for the time.
I guess the grandaddy of them all, though, was the Head Standard.
When a ski manufacturer hits the button in marketing a ski that mixes piste-cred with usability it taps a goldmine. The French nearly wiped out the Austrian ski manufacturing industry by better understanding the psychology and credibility of pitching hardware at the mass market. K2, at times, have been cleverer still.
I can't believe that any entrepreneur in the ski business would use the word 'punter'. Dangerous!

David Goldsmith, I have heard that the Roc was exceptional, but having a pair that I've never skied on ( they are my Aunt's) at my parents garage, they're nearly (at 170cm I think) as dense as the Metron B5.
The last ski that I think did all this was the original Xscream. Best hangover skis I've used, honest.

II, Are we refering to the B4 2005/6? PUNTERS POWDER SKI, and in all honesty, the worst wide ski ever made? Or the B4 2006/7, probably the beefiest ski ever made by Dynastar for Rossi? Definatly not a PUNTERS SKI.

Scarpa, tricky is it not, the "p" being so close to the "c" on a keyboard?
