Have Salomon got it right too late?
I do my fair bit to turn the knife, but they made their bed.
2006/07 Sees Salomon creeping wood back into skis.
OK, there are 2 models, 1 of which is the AK Rocket, not for everyone, but a damn fine ski.
The other, the X-Wing Fury, was the surprise of the year. Same programme as Volkl AC4 and Nordica Hot-Rod Afterburner, with a waist(dependant on size) of around 81mm, she is a real all mountain ski that is strong rewarding and stable on the piste..
Please Note: Not all of the X-Wing range are made of wood/ have a wood core.
This could save Salomon from a painful death. I'm sure it will be, for lots of reasons, the talk of the season and it should be pretty easy to test/rent.

I was quite impressed with the all wood X-Wing Fury, it actually felt like a proper ski.....

veeeight, I think they could squeeze a little more wood in, however a step in the right direction.
