Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Snowboard gloves

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I am in the market for new pair of gloves and found a nice looking pair for a heavily reduced price. The thing is it says they are snowboard gloves and I ski and while i can't see there being a problem with this as they are much the same i would just like to make sure as why would they bother marking it as a snowboard glove which would effectively half their potential customers. thanks

rambotion, board gloves usually have more robust/waterproof material on the palms and strings to attach them to the wrists (don't really know why). Unless they have built-in wristguards you should have no problem using them for skiing.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

rambotion, boarding gloves are usually a little more waterproof and abrasion resistant than skiing gloves and will often have a bit of armour built in, all to do with usually being in more frequent contact with the snow surface. Other than that there's no difference. I ski and board in thin fleece winter cycling gloves 'cos I've got hands like hot shovels and carry insulated overmitts for when it gets really chilly. It doesn't matter what you wear against the cold as long as your hands are warm and dry rather than hot and sweaty.
