 Poster: A snowHead

In trying to avoid hoards in February half term (hahaha, yes I know but I have no choice  !!) I'm looking at options in Italy. I've seen some decent deals in Cortina D'A, Bardonecchia, Cesana and Sauze d'O but most reviews seem to be from skiers. Are there any snowboarders who can chime in on any of these resorts please? Not looking for off-piste or tricky stuff, just blues or sensible reds. Lots of flats would be a major turn off but ok shlepping here and there if needs must. Thoughts anyone?.....

I have never really considered Bardonecchia but hearing this from you, I might consider it now!

Where? I've been looking too but cortina and sauze have been coming in expensive.

The other snag with Bardo is heading left-right there are several quite long, very flat traverses.
Sauze is OK, sounds like it would fit your 'blues and reds' criteria, it's all pretty mellow, even the black is easier than a lot of reds elsewhere, also links to the wider Via Lattea area which has plenty to keep you interested. I've not been to Cesana but obviously that's part of the same area but nearer Montgeneve/Claviere.

We did Bardonecchia in 2014, and Livigno a couple of years before (Ouch, just checked, 2009!). We tend to ride reds and blues, occasional blacks, beside-the-piste / off piste when there's soft stuff to play in.
Bardo we had very little snow, so it was a bus transfer from town to the higher, glacier slopes only. Yes, there were a fair few buttons, and some were seriously long - like leg-numbingly long. However, it gave quite a few options for getting around, some easy exits into powder from part way up a lift, and we've been entirely unworried about buttons ever since. If you can board around Bardo, you can board anywhere!
Livigno we really enjoyed. Bonus is that with opposite sides of the valley is that you can ride in the sun in the morning, then cross the valley to carry on through the afternoon. The pain was the 10 (?) minute walk or bus journey from one side to the other.
I don't think I've found any resort without the odd flat run here or there, and there's often an alternative route or prior knowledge helps you carry speed across it after getting caught out the first time. We look for altitude and, in all honesty, a good deal first. Then accommodation types, and within walking range of piste or lift, resort size, and maybe transfer time.

Any thoughts about Alleghe or Gressoney for boarding?
I think I may be able to fit in a 2nd week for the first time in years. I've been to Gressoney a few years ago, but on skis so was looking through different eyes. And never been to the PreBBWUW.
