Poster: A snowHead
|
Hello,
I used to have a dedicated snow rucksack but sadly it fell apart with use, ive found myself doing alot more travelling for work/pleasure and i'll admit, im tight and dont want to buy 2 individual bags so looking at getting embracing my inner walt and getting a Molle rucksack in the 40-50L category.
The annoying thing, is that the ones i like arent really ski binding friendly with the side straps being too close together, or if they are far apart, then the main bag section isnt suitable for my normal travel requirements.
My current travel bag is the Mil-Tec Large (cross straps to close together) though i could add more straps..., currently out in front is the 5.11 Rush72 but just wondered if anyone else had any other suggestions.
Thanks

I've had my Dakine Heli Pro for years, built in back protector and carries skis easily.

Hello,
Unfortunately the dakine is 20l so too tiny for my needs, needs to be 40+ as I'll put my jacket in if it gets to hot.
I've been checking out the ortovox hr 40 as they have them for sale on sports pursuit, guess I'll need to order one and see how well it'll go as an everyday bag.
Looking at some of the dedicated ski bags, some of them also have close straps or straps that do up at the front of the bag - would have thought that would me the skis slipping round?

A lot of the ski bags will ALSO have a setup for carrying a snowboard, which means separate straps across the sides for aframe ski carry and across the front for strapping a snowboard to. You may also get straps across the front at the top with a toggle at the bottom for holding ice axes etc.
(There are also bags designed for a 45deg carry across the back rather than A frame - strap with a hole to fit bottom of skis through and strap at top to keep them from coming out.
