Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I can't help but I am planning the same trip from the UK and was debating where to stop... We were considering a night in Luxembourg potentially.

If you find a good option please share for me Very Happy

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Most folk go via Belgium / Luxembourg as cheaper petrol and no tolls (until you get to Austria)

Note that travelling via Germany requires 3PMSF tyres now if there is a chance of Wintery conditions

@Wyeski, There was just a very dull & argumentative thread on this very subject https://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=170827&highlight=, bottom line is that Austria is effectively the same.

@mdopto,
As @munich_irish, says, most people for Austria will go via Luxembourg and Germany. I cannot comment on Luxembourg, but over the years I have night-stopped in Germany many times. My car and trailer have never been in secure parking and (so far!) I've never lost anything.
Places I have stopped and will happily return to include Hotel Lauch between Schengen and Merzig, Landgasthaus Frauenstein 66999 Hinterweidenthal (just beyond Pirmasens) and Hotel Engel in Ulm-Lehr. All three serve a good breakfast, the Engel from 06:30. . . . .

@Nemisis, I used to stay in the frauenalm but haven't been able to get a room for years. I stay in pirmasens or zweibrucken now. I also go through France (tolls) on the outbound, much better driving experience. I'll go via lux on the way back if its a Sunday
