Still dreaming of making it over there. It becomes more difficult to justify it when you live in a ski resort vs when you live in the UK...

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Heading there last half of February and first half of March. Very loose plan is to get a week in myoko kogen with the kids and then head north and see what happens.

I intend on doing a relatively quick trip to Zao Onsen area in February. I’ve not pulled the trigger yet.

Fuji mountain is snow free for the first time in 130 years because of warm summer and autumn. Hopefully starting to turn colder. Heading to Hakuba for two weeks in end of january.

That's not quite correct@Thumb, as Mt. Fuji doesn't have permanent snow cover. The media reported as follows on 29 October:
Quote: |
Mount Fuji is still without snow, making it the latest time in the year the mountain has remained bare since records began 130 years ago.
The peaks of Japan's highest mountain typically get a sprinkling of snow by early October, but unusually warm weather has meant no snowfall has been reported so far this year. |
Anyway, the snow is now back!
