Poster: A snowHead

I have noticed that flights early on boxing day and late on New Years eve from London to Innsbruck are quite affordable.
Looking for suggestions for a 5 night ski trip close to Innsbruck that would make the most of this.
Best I have found is 5 nights in a hotel close very close to Innsbruck station for about £1000 with the idea of using the City+ pass to go to local resorts by bus.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

@Henwc, That's not a bad idea. The smaller resorts don't tend to get that busy, so in 5 days you could cover Kühtai, Axamer Lizum, Schlick 2000, Stubai and Seefeld, for example.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Henwc, given your restrictions on days, and not being Sat-Sat, plus I recall you've done the City+ before, it seems to me the best option.

If you dont mind the 1hr transfers each day to explore the Innsbruck resorts.
However, I would be tempted to look at Zillertal valley. Lots of options from Fugen to Mayrhofen or a satellite village of Kitzs.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks all. Ideally I'd avoid the daily bus but I fear that any resort accommodation will be difficult because it crosses over two of the busiest weeks.
Zillertal resort website has accommodation starting at about £2200 a bus ride from the slopes but there will be other options if I look around.

We've done a couple of long weekend trips with Innsbruck as a based. Each time it's been a great success. Yes there is the commute, but generally 30 / 40 mins to most of the hills, but you do get the benefits of accessing a variety of different areas, and a base in a beautiful city. Skiing wise, Axamer is definitely worth a day, (we've skied there 4 or 5 times and loved each of them), plus Stubai and Kuhtai.
Innsbruck itself is lovely, great food, great bars, lovely atmosphere.

@jellemr, I certainly liked Axamer and Stubai when I was there, both feel larger than they look on the piste map.
I really liked Patscherkofel because of the lovely modern gondola and the legendary 1976 Olympic downhill course (or what is left of it).
@swskier, Thanks probably still a bit out of my budget haha
