Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Dear snowHeads Community,
I’ve encountered an issue while trying to set up the SmartFeed RSS feed, and I’m hoping for some advice or guidance.
I like to use SmartFeed so I can read and make comments on posts in my favorite forums without visiting the snowHeads website.
The Snowheads SmartFeed configuration page can be found here:
https://snowheads.com/ski-forum/smartfeed_url.php
- Has anyone else encountered similar problems? If so, how did you resolve it?
- Is there something I’m missing in configuring the SmartFeed?
The Problem:
When I use the SmartFeed URL generated for my account, I get an error instead of the expected RSS feed. Here is the URL I’m using:
https://snowHeads.com/ski-forum/rss.php?u=46318&p=s7yKt7iHt7k=&feed_type=RSS2.0&limit=LF&sort_by=standard&lv=1&fm=8&max_word_size=All
Error Details:
XML Parsing Error:
Line 1, Column 0: Undefined root element: <br>
Line 2, Column 0: Junk after document element.
Troubleshooting Steps
I tested in Multiple RSS Readers: Feedly and NetNewsWire, both of which returned similar errors.
Validated the feed using the W3C Feed Validator:
https://validator.w3.org/feed/
Found that the feed contains HTML content (<br>) where XML is expected.
Suspected Causes
The errors suggest a potential issue with the server configuration:
Missing file: smartfeed_advertising.txt.
Inclusion of HTML tags: (<br>) in the XML output.
Suggestion for Admins
If this is indeed a server-side issue, I hope this report can help the admins identify and resolve the problem. The file permission errors and malformed XML seem to point to something that might need fixing in the backend.
Thank you for a great forum

@lars.....
, welcome to snowHeads!
Just two points. Firstly you've posted in the wrong part of the forum for technical issues, try Suggestions/Requests & forum techie questions:
https://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewforum.php?f=12
Secondly I'd suggest you change your username as using your email address you're likely to get spammed by bots scanning the internet. You can request a username change here:
