Equity and skibound are fine, similar style outfits. Have used both in the past and while not perfect, I'd use them again. I believe PGL do ski trips too, but not sure if they still do.
Visions are a smaller outfit, have used recently. Happy to recommend. Halsbury also fine.
We've also used interski who are good but focus mostly on Aosta valley resorts in Italy.

My kids have all been on school trips with Skibound. All seemed to go very well, but I would say that the school has been running this trip for well over a decade and brings a lot of experience to the organisation of it. It is possibly more the school's trip than Skibound's.

PGL don't go to Canada, I checked yesterday as they are a company I have worked with numerous times.

@jaydubya, Welcome to Snowheads. Question, why Canada? It is so much cheaper to go to the Alps and, as a parent of 3, I could entertain the cost for Europe but Canada is probably prohibitive, especially with 20% VAT on school fees.

I have limited experience as a parent and this dates back to 2011 with Skibound, where they failed to book flights for the school trip to Colorado and tried to bounce the trip to New Hampshire, at full cost, with circa 5 weeks to go. As they were completely unwilling to provide any explanation or better offer of alternative, the trip was cancelled with about 3 weeks to go.
They appear to still be in business, so i guess that this isn't every schools experience.
Which ever company you select to go with , i suggest that you ensure that they confirm the arrangements that they are making at the earliest and in a timely manner, and push hard early if you don't get a satisfactory reply. examples from our experience above - changing of the hotel (in effect a downgrade) & no flight details available at circa 15weeks before dept - this was for a group of 63 plus staff so if you're not making your resevations early you're not getting them.

I've done lots of school trips with Equity and Skibound over the last 15 years or so. They are much of a muchness-they've both done a good job but check the contract carefully for things like number of staff places, number of instructors, snow guarantee etc. There is not much to choose from them and I've always chosen the one with the best resort/accommodation on offer-i.e. ski in/out (or close to), high altitude/mileage. I think on balance SKibound seem to have the best resorts for what we're looking for-high mileage, high altitude, ski in/out and usually French. We generally go first week of Christmas holidays (we get a full week break before the Christmas week) comes in cheaper than half term (obviously) or indeed Easter.

@jaydubya, isn't it cutting it a bit fine to organise a school ski trip for this coming easter, from my experience of when my girls were eligible to go on ski trips, they seemed to be advertised, and invariably sold out over a year in advance.
thankfully my girls were never interested in the school trips, as they tended to be circa £1.5k for a trip to Italy, going up to nearly £2k for a trip to Canada
in 2002 when we were still married, i once accompanied my wife (before we had kids) who was a teacher on her school ski trip to Austria, i had to pay, and it costed me around £600 which i thought was a bargain.
even then it was organised over a year before we went.

Good advice. The operator that my kids' school uses, won't confirm flights until a few weeks before. It's frustrating, as it constrains our ability to book our separate trip at the same time, until we know whether the kids are flying at 6am or 6pm. I can only imagine they have block bookings for seats, and then tesselate their various school trips to maximise usage of them. Or maybe they're just incompetent.

SkiBound as are about now but are not the SkiBound of old. The business was sold to various business.
The people who were SkiBound are now Select School Travel (The son of John Bowden, owner of SkiBound in the 90's) and I have had dealings with them, not related to ski travel, although I did do the graphics on their coaches..
Eldest daughter did go to Italy with SkiBound last season and had a blast.

I ran 15 school ski trips all to Europe between 1989 and 2010. We used various companies at the start then found Interski after 3 trips and used them exclusively as they were so good. They were excellent but I do not know what they are like now as I am retired. They provided a complete package of travel, accommodation, instruction, equipment and evening entertainment.
I do not understand why any school wants to take pupils outwith Europe for ski trips as the cost is so much greater and the journey times longer. We were a city comprehensive school so cost needed to be kept down. Keeping control of youngsters on long journeys is inviting problems. We were also unique in that we were the nearest school to the large plastic slope in Edinburgh so pupils could not come on the trip until they could ski or board from the top of the slope. That way they were all in control and wanted to participate as much as possible. It was also good for the instructors as they had groups that could travel all over the slopes.
Good luck on trying to take a school group to Canada!

There's not much difference between a 16 hour coach journey to the Alps and a 9 hour flight to Canada (apart from price)?
