Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Cerler (Pyrenees) - beautiful report

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
This forum user on German Alpinforum did a big roadtrip across most larger resort in the Pyrenees, in March 2024.

Apparently, Cerler was the best area. Here is the link to the report. Extensive description with lots of photo's.

Nice one! snowHead

Nestled all alone amongst the highest 3000m+ peaks of the Aragonese Pyrenees.

With it not having any other resorts nearby, I never thought there was quite enough there for a week-long trip from the UK! Confused

...and it's probably a bit too far from Barcelona or Zaragoza for a weekender! Sad

@Onnem, Thanks for that, heading down that way for the first time in the motorhome come January. Never heard of Cerler but looks ideal, can see motorhomes well tolerated in the lift carpark from the photos.

Skied there for a day nearly 40 years ago. Great little place then. I was staying in Panticosa at the time and trying some of the other areas. I seem to recall that Cerler featured in the then Thompson’s ski holiday brochure for a couple of seasons - probably late 80s.

Candanchu was also another really nice small area.

Amazing little ski tour, Herr Warth certainly packed them in, one resort per day! Cool

He's now uploaded Boí Taüll over the regional border in Catalonia which looks pretty deserted in mid March

Hopefully the rest of the trip will follow soon!

The Pyrenees can get some prodigious snowfalls (at altitude) with their location wedged between two seas snowHead

We have spent 2 summer holidays, camping in the Spanish Pyrenees.
Have been to Boi Taull, looked nice, but seemed a typical place where people drive up every day.

Was more impressed with the extensiveness and quality of the slopes at Bacquiera-Beret.
I think that is the best resort in the Pyrenees, together with Cerler.
