Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

St Anton mudslide

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Heavy rain this weekend caused a mud slide in St. Anton. Some flooding and debris in the village, maybe near the bus station. https://www.krone.at/3495815

Apparently mud slide came down Steissbachtal.

Yes there were reports on the St Anton thread. Drove over the Brenner yesterday (on way to Tuscany) and signs around Innsbruck saying "Arlberg Pass closed due to landslide". Currently very difficult to get to Vorarlberg from the rest of Austria - best route via Munich!, alternatives via Silveretta Hochalpenstrasse and Hochtannberg Pass are very slow and not easy to reach. Sure they are working to get the road cleared asap.

From Tirol best route is via Hahntennjoch to Warth, and Lech to Stuben, not via Hochtannberg!

@davidthornton, Looks to me like the sediment and debris traps at moos, and at the bus station, filled up rather rapidly with stones from the steissbachtal and overflowed into the bus station and beyond, and also up at the top damaging the road to kk and some localised flooding.

The stream in jungbruntobel also overflowed sending mud down mooserkreuz and all the way to the schulerweg.

The road between christoph and raus has collapsed, near to bottom of arlenmahder lift, some footage here, that will take a while to fix, and the tunnel is closed to boot.
