I've stayed in Casinos in South Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas... in my experience it costs about the same as a hotel without a casino (unless you are a high roller) but they do have a habit of upgrading you to better rooms all the time.
Why?

The lavishly-built underground casino in Zermatt shut within months of opening. There's got to be a reason for that.

I popped into a Casino last week and spent the best part of £200 - mind you I was shopping for 9 of us. Normally I go to the larger Super-U in the valley, but was short on time.

D G Orf,

but no one ever accused footballers of being particularly smart |
Rudd Gulitt speaks 6 langauges, Steve Coppell gained a degree well before he went professional and former Brazilian international Sócrates was already a doctor of medicine when he captained his country in the FIFA World Cup of 1982. The list goes on and on...
But sadly the Gazzas and Bartons of the game tend to tar all the other players.
All lawyers, on the other hand, are fukcwits.

PJSki, There are always one or two people who will be better but the vast majority of footballers seem to get increasingly stupid in proportion to their income

PJSki, I don't think most of them are thick, that would imply that they are incapable of learning, rather I think they do stupid things, e.g stealing stuff from handbags which are in a room with CCTV or getting into fights or crashing cars whilst over the limit, for that matter blowing huge sums of money at a casino. They are stupid because they think that because they are celebrities they will get away with it
|
|
|
|
|
|
D G Orf, yeah, but out of the total number of players, the ones who do the thing you mention are a very small minority.
Any way, as I said, it's lawyers who are stupid. Christ, they can't even agree on what the law is. If they could, how is it we always have opposing legal teams in each case? Round them all up and put the through a meat grinder, I say. Then feed the remains to pigs, so their last journey can be out of a swine's rectum.

It depends how much you are going to invest. I have personally set a limit for myself what I can spend during a month. .

We paid 68 bucks per night, plus tax, to stay in the MGM Grand in Vegas a few years ago. Only disappointment was no free spam.

i blagged a free upgrade in MGM grand.. Upgraded to a king Suite
Overlooking - Overhearing the constant noise from the AirCon for the Lobby & gaming area not so great.
Got through the 1st night with the ear plugs provided in our flight's amenities kit, then to wallgreens to buy a bag of plugs.
Mont Bleu in Tahoe was £135 for 3 nights a couple of years ago

I think we had a Junior Suite. Biggest hotel room, actually two rooms, I've ever been in. It overlooked the pool and was very lovely. We only stayed a few days before heading on to the Grand Canyon, and was amazed by the deal that we got. Apparently there was a big difference between weekend and midweek rates (we checked-in on a Monday). Bonkers place which we enjoyed, but don't feel the need to rush back. No free spam though.

A bit odd to have "casino" as the name of a business. Or does casino mean something else in French?

It is just a name, you can read the history behind it here, the original store was in a disused casino.
