Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Unique late 80's early 90's Olin skis... (now pics added)

Back in around 1990 (maybe 89, or 91) I bought a pair of very unique skis. They are airbrushed with a cool (to me anyway) design, and are on an Olin base. Pretty sure they are 205's, not that that matters

Trying to find a little about the person that painted/sprayed/designed them if possible.

I'm pretty sure I would have bought them somewhere around Schladming/Dachstein as that was the area I think we were in - I was 17/18, and it was many years ago, so a little hazy on the details.

I've had them on my wall in my pub/cabin/garden room for a few years, and just thought i'd try and find out more.

Anyone got any pointers? I'll try and work out how to upload an image shortly.

The K2 PR department is worth a try.

Ok, cheers. So K2 own the Olin brand then?

@TheMikeSki, they are quite attractive. My suspicion is just a one off by a local artist. Much like the folks who airbrush bike fuel tanks.

I've never seen anything like, and I've been a ski geek since around 1978.

Roger Moore's Bond skied on Olin (Mk 6s?) in iirc "The Spy Who Loved Me" (opening sequence stunts by Mike Nemesvary) ...

Edit: the skis were in Cortina I think in "For your eyes only"

@under a new name, i think you are probably right about being a local. Would just be nice to find out a bit more about who is was.

I'm pretty fond of them, but do sometimes feel like they should be in a mountain bar somewhere.

That said, if the artist turns out to be the Swiss/Austrian/French Banksy, then I'm sure I'd be persuaded to part with them... Eh oh!
