Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just to let you know that P&O are not charging for dogs up to July 31st so compared to Euro Tunnel that saved £66 and that includes free to their Pet Lounge which is great!
Us two legged beings paid £12 for the Pet Lounge which is great value and is so much calmer than the rest of the ship, I nearly freaked when I went to find some food and was thrown back into "society" having been in my Serre bubble since November, as we'd got out of the van on the parking deck and took the lift up straight through to the Pet Lounge so did not encounter anyone else.
I checked and if we'd gone Eurotunnel would have been £280 and P&O was £185.
With the dogs we boarded immediately once through check-in and passport control, and disembarking was not too bad compared to Eurotunnel, the crossing is 90mins, but it is so relaxing.
As ever a big shout out to our half way stop over in
Arc-En-Barrois Hotel du Parc
12km off the Auto-route which is very dog friendly and the village is just so quaint & cute with a chateau overlooking the hotel etc think that was our 5th stay!

, we were talking about this the other day, as the Mrs hadn't realised there was such a thing. Unfortunately our dog is too reactive around others that it would be a nightmare in the pet lounge, so he's best off in the car.

, they have cages on deck, plus plenty of room to be on your own.
Though often the dogs know that the kennel on wheels they often travel in is safe and secure for them and that the owners do return.

, yes, for ours, in the van is the best place we can leave him full stop. He's better left in there than he is in the house, so may as well do the same on the ferry/train.

Hopefully other ferry companies will follow the example. I still wouldn't pay P and O ferries out of principle.
