Hi all!
Last year I went on a ski trip after a 10 year break and I dug out my old twin-tips (K2 Public Enemies 169CM, 2007 model) and had them fully serviced.
They performed okay on the trip (La Plagne) last April and I now have another spring trip to Val Thorens in 2 weeks time but don't want them to hold me back from improving if they are too short.
I'm also a stone heavier in weight and don't feel as confident or as skilled as I used to be. I'm certainly not as fit either.
I'm 12 stone, 5 foot 10 and have done around 12 weeks on the mountains in Europe with a fair amount of snowdome time in the UK before my break.
169CM does seem short now, especially as they are a twintip and I feel like 175cm+ would be better.
Any advice?

I have the option through Sunweb to rent skis with Skiset but I've read terrible reviews of what is available and condition as well as horror stories of charging people for damage that they didn't do.
I'm also completely out of the loop with what's available and the website is vague about the models they offer (like most shops I've searched so far).
It's a choice between what I have in a good state of tune (but a bit short) or a gamble on models I've never heard of on the day that could be worse for wear after a full season?

@K2Punk, at that length, given your stats, they won’t hold you back from improving. They have 84 waist which is is considered thinnish these days but was fat once...
With your skiing history the key thing is to get the miles in and get some really good tuition. Prepare yourself with videos like Deb Armstrong and then take recommendations for the best instruction in-country.
People tend to fret about skis when technique is far more important...and far better value....

More of the same in my view, they won't be a problem and will, as well, allow you a decent look at your skill level vs where you left off skiing.
Serviced competently, they'll work fine, at not much cost to get going again and enjoy being out on the mountain.
Familiarity, getting comfortable again, lessons etc .... all will work toward you using these ski more fully to eventually give you confidence in your own judgement as to exactly what difference you'd like to buy into in regard to specific areas of use and ski attributes. You'll soon start forming more focused opinion and balance of that view against the one's youve got and ultimately what's available in contemporary marketplace.
Can't see them spoiling a week, nice to get out and not have any real concerns and not have to evaluate or detail an immediate buying decision. Worthwhile giving space to think about where you go from this basis.
Length, doubt they'd give much compromise, if any, for general piste skiing across varied conditions this time of year. Getting into softer, deeper and less piste topography may give more valid reasons to consider shift a little longer / wider etc.
Blow the cobwebs off your skills, have a good time skiing, then evaluate with that perspective.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my post with some excellent advice and after deliberating all night, I've decided to take my own skis over renting.
I'm just happy to be back on the slopes and amongst the amazing scenery, which is a big reason for picking April for the bluebird days.
I will take what you all said on-board regarding brushing up on the skills I have and getting them back up to standard and I've been watching a lot of instructional videos recently which has refreshed me somewhat.
If funds allow, I'm going to book some improver lessons so I can really work on the drills and technique whilst away.
I truly appreciate the advice and thank you all for putting my mind at ease!
