 Poster: A snowHead

Starting to think it's worth spreading my wings and snowboarding somewhere other than Pistes. I'm in La Tania for a week next Jan and most my mates are skiers who will want to ride piste all week but the other snowboarders I'm with would probably be up for it so wondering if anyone has any recommendations for guiding in that area that may also include pointers as we're all as fresh as the snow that will definitely be there the week I'm over. My default was to see what ESF do but happy to go with a stronger rec. Probably at least 3 half days. Maybe more
Been snowboarding for 10 years so I'm handy enough. Just rarely ventured further than the sides of tracks.
In Tignes in Feb and would hopefully like to do the same then. So, again, if anyone can point me in the direction that would be class. I'm guessing the guides who ski will accommodate snowboarders and vice versa?

@Rowan23, if you are hiring a guide then mixed groups are possible, but if you are joining a group then you will tend to find that ski and snowboards are separate as the terrain choice will be affected by equipment - for instance it's much easier to pole out along a flat pitch on skis than on a board, so yo umay not do certain lines on a board to avoid a long walk out.

Gotcha. I did a bit of reading on Vallee Blanche (also on my to do list in the next couple of seasons) and it said as a snowboarder I’d probably not have the best of time in a ski group. I guess I was thinking more that the guide themself may be a skier but would still accommodate a snowboarder.
After a bit of googling it looks like there are a fair few schools in the two resorts I’ll be in. If it comes to it and no one thinks there is a stand out (from their own personal experience) I can always roll the Google search dice.

If you join a group with a guide you are unlikely to receive any pointers, especially in a mixed ski and snowboard group.
If you have a couple of friends on boards who are keen too, you are better to hire a snowboard instructor just for yourselves if you want some tuition as well as guiding.
I am a full qualified snowboard instructor and have worked in the 3 Valleys for 17 years, so would be be happy to help when you are in La Tania.

If there's a 2-4 of you at roughly the same level, I'd go for two or three mornings of private off piste instruction rather than a week of group lessons.
I know diddly about La Tania but in Tignes...book early with TDC, if you've missed the boat with them then Ultimate would be my recommendation.
Above all, don't bother with ESF, the main thing is to find a native English speaking instructor.

For Tignes I would check out https://rebelalliancesnowboarding.com/ - snowboard-specific and great instruction. I can't speak for the guiding part personally, but they do a lot of cool trips to places like Georgia, so definitely know their stuff on the off piste side of things.
