Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wife was hospitalized before Christmas with it and she seemed to bouncing back well from it...until we were in Solden in February and it flared up again.
We're off to Ischgl on Saturday and I'm wondering if anyone else in here suffer with it??...what foods (bar the obvious ones!) do you avoid when you're on the mountain??

She knows her goulaschsuppe and possibly ribs days are done but is there any other sneaky triggers she should keep an eye out for??

My mum has it. Western Chinese food ( particularly the MSG, not homemade stuff) seemed to be her major trigger.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I have it, although fingers crossed haven't had too much of a problem since it caused a perforation about 7 years ago.

I avoid anything with small seeds that can get 'stuck' in the diverticula and I have made changes to my diet (slowly getting to high fibre) to keep things both 'regular, soft and lumpy' (as my Consultant put it)

Other than the above and keeping well hydrated, I don't think about too much when I'm eating.

That's pretty much what she's been told to.....she's not happy about the end of her germknodel addiction!

A friend with diverticulosis avoided foods with seeds for ages (a pain, as he loves tomatoes and raspberries etc). I googled it, and modern opinion doesn't seem to support the "anti seeds" rules, and his GP has now confirmed that it's fine for him to eat seeds. And seeds are generally very good for the health - though germknodel isn't, if you eat the rest of it...... Perhaps anyone who enjoys seeds but has been told to avoid them should seek a second opinion?

I find almonds (with skin on) flares mine up. I get it only mildly though.
