When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Tui (Crystal) refusing airbag cylinders!

For the first time in over 50 flights with my Mammut cylinder I wasn’t allowed to take it onboard. Sad
This was a Tui flight from East Midlands .
The ground crew tried their best and rang through to head office but was told Tui’s new policy is to refuse all cylinders.
Worth considering when booking.

I think the only hassle free way to travel with an airbag is with a super capacitor based one. I fully expect at some point to be stopped with my Lithium Ion based one, at which point I will replace it with a super capacitor one.

We have just flown on a Tui operated flight to Innsbruck, and ahead of travelling and after reading this and another thread regarding avalanche rescue backpacks, I phoned the Tui customer service number and explained that I’d like to take my mammut cylinder (as per their own guidlines) and in line with their operator approval process, and all was swell; I received an email within 24hrs confirming all is good.
