When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Lake Tahoe California Sierra Nevada: atmospheric river storms for the next 9 days in the forecast until FEB 7, 2024 according to the U.S. National Weather Service.

We're about 24 hours away from the first storm to hit the high Sierra Nevada mountains; snow drops to 1524 meters!

Today's updated snowfall estimated totals got boosted to 2.057 meters for China Peak mountain resort located in Alpine County south eastern Sierra mountains of California.

The other Lake Tahoe area resorts will get anywhere from 1 meter to slightly less than 2 meters.

Connect with local skiers, boarders of all levels, plus, share a ride to Tahoe resorts or backcountry ski touring trips.

Also, many of our members are part of a ski lease lodge share so you can easily connect to stay and pay a nominal nightly guest fee.

We have on-going in-person social gatherings which is a great way to meetup with skiers, snowboarders for Tahoe trips.

LOL - yes, that's true Lake Tahoe can sometimes get Sierra Cement (happens when rain falls on top of snow, overnight becomes icy snow aka Sierra Cement) - whenever we have high elevation snow from warm storms but this AR storm window will deliver what is known as "Max Fluff" COLD AIRY powder snow coined by OpenSnow snowHead
