Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Courchevel chalet for 12?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all, I may be searching for a unicorn here. I am fully aware that we’ve chosen an expensive resort and a crazy time of year.

I’m looking for a chalet or apartment for 12 in courchevel 1550 or 1650. New year or Christmas week. For up to £1000 per head. It must have 6 bedrooms (so, 2 per room).

I’ve been searching for weeks and am struggling to find many options. Lots of places don’t seem to have their prices out for next year yet. But I don’t want to leave it too long as we have such specific requirements.

Any suggestions on sites to look at or places I can try?

Have you looked at La Tania? Seems to be a couple of options on AirBnB

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We have looked at La Tania. At the moment I think we would like to get 1650 or 1550 so we are a bit closer to the main resort and there’s a bit more going on. We will have a few non skiers with us and would like more going on around us. La Tania is just that little bit further out. It’s certainly a back up though. Thank you.

Assuming it's a catered chalet you're after, I suspect you might have to pay a bit more for New Year.

If catered, then leski.com are the Courchevel 1650 and La Tania specialists I think - but you won't get anything for even close to £1k pp over Christmas or New Year. (Note they also provide flights, transfers, etc., but even allowing for that they won't get close on price I suspect).

With respect to C1650 versus La Tania, agree C1650 is much nicer as a place to hang out for non-skiers but, on the flipside from a skiing perspective, La Tania better located in my view. It made a big difference when we stayed there last year as it made it much easier/quicker to get to the other valleys, without really compromising our ability to ski in the broader Courchevel.

If you can up the budget a smidge then this place is lovely. Super location in 1650 and has the 6 bedrooms you need

Hi all, we are looking for self catered, accommodation only. It is a big ask, I realise that, with the resort and time of year. But there must be something out there.

@red 27, as soon as I win the euro millions, I’ll book! Very Happy

@breeze11, if you're looking for a self-catering place you should look at this. Currently available for New Year. https://www.gites-de-france-savoie.com/Hebergements/gite/le-gite-de-bisanne-73G317117.html?&deb=28/12/2024&nbj=8&exe=2024&reload=true

I have stayed there, can recommend it, and know the location well. It's not Courchevel but it's affordable.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Your best bet otherwise, if you are determined on Courchevel, would be to get several apartments in the same building but that won't give you a nice meeting place for all.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

We were in Les Saisies a couple of weeks ago and it appeared to have a great network of walking routes for non skiers, some of which allowed access to meet skiers for lunch. It's a very pretty and very French resort.

 You know it makes sense.
You know it makes sense.
In Les Saisies itself there are a couple of big individual chalets which would sleep 12 but they are very expensive, and already booked for Christmas and New Year. The resort website already has next season on it - and I would imagine that's the case everywhere. A search on Christmas and New Year produced zilch.

This chalet is 8000 euros in the cheapest week of January. https://reservation.lessaisies.com/chalet-cocoa-14-pers-les-saisies-14-personnes-6349223-les-saisies.html?&cid=6&action=result&resa_action=result

And this is very far - in every way, including general expense - from Courchevel.
