Hi all, am thinking of booking in April to stay in St Martin de Belleville. Obvs it’s low down and wouldn’t expect to ski back to the village but to the top of St Martin gondola via blue Jerusalem piste. Is this likely to be doable, would the snow be reliable enough 2nd week in April? Cheers for advice.

@RachelMG, Not a guide to this year's conditions but a couple years ago we did spend the second week in April staying in St Martin. We did ski down Jerusalem a few times. The top was good, especially first thing in the morning when it was rock hard. In the afternoon the bottom was like custard, deep thick custard. Oddly, though it was marked as a red then it felt like it was a blue.
We skied down to the village a few times before deciding that it wasn't worth it and joined the rest coming down in the lift. No shame in that.

@RachelMG, impossible to say. Some years yes, some no. Depends entirely on base snow depth, temperature and cloud cover and we're too far out at the moment to call it. As a general rule the red Pramint is more reliable but it can get very sticky in late season sun. Biggest problem with Jerusalem is the end section where it narrows a bit between rock outcrops. Underneath the piste there is all uneven rock so you may have to pick your way through. Same for the path back to the gondola, bits of that just turn to puddles in late spring. It's unlikely to be closed though, you will just need to be careful the later in the day it is.
You will most likely be able to ski back to St M though, they do their utmost to keep Biolley open even if it is slushy.

Jerusalem was originally a red run but only because of the top bumpy section. The bottom three-quarters was always blue gradient, but marked red because of the top. You can still enter the original way but that section's been renamed Cherferie as a separate piste.
The official Jerusalem entrance is now a newer gentler section around the side and the whole piste is more accurately graded as blue.
