Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Looking to rent some place cheap in the Alps (probably Austria)..solo trip for 2-4 weeks

Hi. I tried posting this under Chalets and Apts but maybe better to post this in here... I live in Prague, Czech Republic and am looking to go really anywhere down in the Alps that's a mid to large size resort (or stay near one). I'll be going solo (I'm a mid-aged snowboarder guy btw) and looking to stay from 2-4 weeks. Just need to find a cheap/simple place to stay, with a kitchen. I'll be taking a train down to the Alps from Prague and just wondering any advice out there for me the best place to go/get to. Is it totally unrealistic to find a place for $100 a night (or even less) for that length of stay? I know St. Anton (in Austria) has a train station but I'm guessing accommodations down there will be super pricey. I dont need to stay right in a town where the lifts are, totally ok with bussing it in every morning from a nearby town. Just thought I'd ask here for some ideas/thoughts...Thx!

@eaglesandsnowboarding, you could try zillertal region, places like fugen or kaltenbach may be some of the cheaper resorts compared to mayrofhen, or even jenbach where the valley train to mayrofhen starts from.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

fugen has a fantastic leisure centre by the way, we used it a few times when we stayed there a few years ago

@eaglesandsnowboarding, Worth looking at Flaine in the Grand Massif. Lot of basic apartment rentals which should be close to your budget. Also ski in, ski out. Train to Geneva and short transfer. Worth a look.
