Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Wondered if you all had any opinion on a private instructor taking 2 kids (12 & 14) out who are at slightly different abilities?
Our 12 year old is nudging ESF 2 star and our 14y/o is 3 star?
It would only be for a couple of days as we're on a short break to Tignes late March?

It's about the kids not the instructor.
If the better of the two doesn't arc up then the instructor will be able to get them both better.

Without really knowing the ESF levels it's hard to say, but with just one grade between them I would have thought it shouldn't be too difficult to take them together. The key is finding slopes that they're both comfortable with, preferably with some fun elements available.
Reading the
descriptions
it seems that level 2 isn't quite getting parallel through the turn, so maybe at the plough-parallel stage, whereas L3 is more complete parallel turns, so I'd think that they could both be doing the same exercise at least some of the time, with a slightly different focus on developing vs improving the required skills. But really one would need to look on the day before deciding what to do and where.
But in principle, if guests asked me to take the two of them together I wouldn't have any major concerns about doing so.

Having had kids of various mixed ages/abilities in private lessons, I'd agree with the above - sounds fine. If the better one does act up the instructor will probably be able to find something for him to get his teeth stuck into! Tell him to follow them down the hill backwards, maybe.
