Poster: A snowHead

Hello everyone,
I hope you're all gearing up for an epic ski season! I find myself in a bit of a boot-fitting conundrum and would greatly appreciate some input from this knowledgeable community.
I've been an on-and-off skier for the past 15+ years and have always had boots that felt like a dream (apart from rentals!!). However, with the pandemic winding down, I've decided to up my skiing game and invest in a new pair of boots. During a recent trip to France, I visited a few boot fitters, each providing different recommendations that, at times, contradicted each other.
I tried on various boots, including Fischer and Salomon BOA boots in 27.5, but my right foot just doesn't seem to settle comfortably. Both recommendations pointed towards a medium volume boot with a 100mm last. For reference, my last pair were Head Raptor 120s from 2018, and they were fantastic, though I suspect my feet might have changed a bit since then.
Here are my foot measurements:
Right foot - 28.8cm, 97mm width
Left foot - 27.6cm, 94mm width
If anyone has experienced a similar situation or has insights into the Fischer and Salomon BOA boots or other recommendations, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Perhaps you've encountered changes in your feet over the years and found a solution that worked well for you.
Thanks a bunch for taking the time to read this, and I'm looking forward to tapping into the collective wisdom of this community.
Happy skiing,
Henry

The standard response on here would be to engage the services of a reputable boot fitter such as https://www.solutions4feet.com/home Other retailers will be able to provide similar services, both here and in resort, but I would beware of taking advice from well-meaning folk on the internet regarding suitability of boots for your feet. You can buy skis, clothing etc by mail order, but boots for feet like yours need a specialist.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

+1, and be patient. You had "dream" boots once. No reason you can't get there again, it just may take longer.

^ What they said.
Normally I'd say get the ones which fit your smaller foot and then make modifications to the other one so to fit the bigger foot, but as we're talking about 1.2 cm difference I don't know if that works. Might be that you'll have to go with boots that don't seem to fit neither foot out of the box, ie. which will be slightly too big for your left and slightly too small for your right. The right boot would be molded/punched out and you'd get shims to go in the left.
In any case, you'll need a boot fitter for this.

Welcome to
I'd say recommendations to good boot fitters are probably better then boot recommendations.
Where she you based. With that info, you'll get better suggestions.

I have a 1.2cm difference between my feet. I buy boots to fit the bigger foot with thin ski sock and then wear thick sock on smaller foot. I would not want to wear a boot slightly too small on my bigger foot. My personal preference is to go to a shop with lots of choice of brands (eg Vieux Campeur ) and simply try different ones on until one feels right. never gone down the bespoke fitting route but each to his own
