Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A snowHead
Hi all,
I am going to be in Val Cenis for a quick trip in Feb and need to replace my boots. It is not an must do thing, but they are getting old and I'd be happy to change if I could. I have very non average feet so need a good bootfitter. Does anyone have an experience of anyone in the Maurienne Valley (ideally Val Cenis, as I dont want to be driving a lot every day to get readjustments done.)
Thanks
DF

We've been in here a few times SPORTS VANOISE - location SKI et VTT Val Cenis Lanslevillard

and bought some ex rental ski from them.
No experience with boots though, but a full service shop with equipment and knowledge. Worth a look in to assess for yourself.
The ski shops there generally (mostly we've been in Llansvillard) are reasonably extensive with good range of stock and services.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Same basis, happy with their approach and services given, but not had boots fitted. They own the shop across the road too, so no competition in that regard.

I've heard several recommendations for
Skiset
Relief in La Norma. Several pisteurs from various resorts get their boots sorted there but I've not yet tried them myself (though I will when I next need boot faffing)
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks for the suggestions. Pisteurs definitely give a level of confidence alright
