 Poster: A snowHead

Hello, my daughter has a condition where the tips of her fingers go white if her hands get cold and I want her to get a pair of battery heated gloves and see if they make a big difference. Does anybody have a recommendation from gloves that people out there have bought and like in terms of the battery charge staying long and the heat element being good for at least five hours? Looking for a decent glove that looks good that isn’t the top most expensive brand out there. Thanks for your advice.

In addition to any advice you get on gloves, do also make sure your daughter pays attention to her core. I was amazed at the reduction in 'OMG my hands are freezing and my fingertips have gone white' occurrences once I got religious about putting on a hat at lunch, keeping my jacket done up and basically not allowing my core to get cold. I really wish I'd realised how much the 'cold hands' problem can be a symptom of being too cold elsewhere!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The issue you are going to face is that most ‘Cheap’ heated gloves are from "here today, gone tomorrow" suppliers from the far east, so you are going to need to spend a reasonable amount to get a good quality glove.
Blaze Wear have long been recommended on here, both the liners and complete gloves - https://www.blazewear.com/our-gear/gloves-and-glove-liners
Personally I’ve tried most heated gloves over 20’ish years, including Hestra, Snowlife, Black Diamond, Thermic and Outdoor Research, and out of those every brand but one had to be replaced at least once under warranty (some more than once). The only brand that wasn’t is Outdoor Research, and they also produced the warmest gloves. Unfortunately, they fall under the most expensive brands clause you mention, but you get what you pay for.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Bought some cheap Chinese heated gloves from Amazon for £40 last year as a bit of a gamble. EEIEER 7.4V 5000mAh with 5 levels of heat. So far used for 6 weeks and more than happy. Used for 8 hours today on 60% heat and hands stayed nice and warm with 80% charge left showing.
