Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Easiest binding for swapping boots with same BSL

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have two boots with the exact same BSL, but one has an Alpine sole and one has GripWalk, so although they have the same length sole, they are different thicknesses. Are there any bindings that could be set up to fit both boots with no manual adjustment needed when switching between them?

I think that if the binding is labelled MNC it will take either?

I am not 100% sure, but I think Tyrolia Attacks can do this - Their system bindings can Happy

No manual adjustment? Wouldn't that require the AFD to have automatic adjustment? I'm not aware of anything that could do that - I might be wrong...

I believe that one of the Look/Rossignol binding systems are switchable between WTR and Alpine by using a flat bladed screwdriver to alter the switch.

The AFD is fixed on my new Marker Squire bindings, which take both gripwalk and alpine soles. As far as I can tell, with 2 boots of nominally the same sole length I just need to check the forward pressure if I were to swap between them.

Any Gripwalk binding will accomodate an Alpine sole as well as a GW one. The thick part of the GW sits behind the toe piece so does not affect AFD adjustment. MNC will take touring boots too...

I think all MNC bindings would need a manually adjustable AFD, but that’s the opposite of what I’m looking for. It sounds then like the new Squires you don’t have to adjust the AFD. From some googling it looks like the Salomon Strives work like that too.

any gripwalk binding will accept the gripwalk sole AND the alpine sole with no changes

But if that was the case why would some non-MNC bindings have a manually adjustable AFD? That adjustability would then be redundant.

@hold_my_biere, because most were made before the gripwalk norm was finalised, the WTR bindings for example , will mostly fit gripwalk in the "alpine" position
