Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I’m completely new here so hi to all Eh oh!

I’m driving from Calais to Chamonix in the spring and wonder if anyone could recommend a decent overnight stop? Our usual stop is the Val Moret in Magnant, food is amazing by the way anyway they don’t have vacancies ? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Best wishes
Rob

@Robdav62, welcome to sHs snowHead

A bit further South than your normal stop, but Beaune is a charming place for an overnight stay. Plenty of decent options…but, for the life of me, I can’t recall the name of the hotel we stayed at. Very handily situated on the edge of town with secure parking. It was a recommendation from Hells Bells. Perhaps she’ll stumble onto your thread and answer….or I’ll see if I can find a reference to it (it was about 9 years ago!).

I guess driving a bit further means a shorter trip the following day - something I’ve personally always preferred in the past, when driving UK to Europe for skiing.

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Hi and thank you. I’ll certainly bear it in mind? I did a search online but so many hits it’s difficult choosing even after reading reviews?
I’ve done the route in excess of a dozen times and have always stayed at the Val Moret so anything is going to feel a little different? But the main criteria is half decent food and not far off route?

Thanks again for the info it’s very much appreciated.
