Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Walking from Prodains to Aquariaz in Avoriaz

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello hello,

A bit of unusual question about Avoriaz.

We've been to avoriaz before but always stayed in town.
This year we are staying near the bottom of the Prodains in Morzine, but the family (wife- no skier, 1 year old baby) still wants to visit Aquariaz swimming pool in Avoriaz.

The prodians will be our main commute to Avoriaz.
I can't remember if the walk up would be too steep for a non-skier carrying a baby in arms. or should we get a horse/snow taxi from top of the prodians lift?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

The walk isn't especially steep - the main concern would be crossing the bottom of the piste under the Plateau chair to get from the exit of Prodains to the track next to the ESF office/Changabang. Mid morning or mid afternoon should be fine but can get busy with both beginners who might not be able to dodge you and experienced skiers trying to just carry speed and not looking where they're going lunch time/home time. Assuming your wife's fit and healthy and has her wits about her she should be fine. Grandma, maybe not.

The route would be:
1. Prodains
2. Cross to Changabang
3. Up the track 20m to the next building
4. Up the public lift
5. Exit the building and turn left
6. Follow that track till the next juntion and you're basically there

Of course both wife and baby might prefer the horse drawn sleigh ride...
