Poster: A snowHead

Second week of April looking to take young family skiing…not looking to be smashing the miles and slopes in, just give a nice week and intro to skiing. Have cheap flights to Geneva and so wondering where people would recommend? Do want there to be snow but area doesn’t have to be massive. Also good family activities for when not skiing. Flaine was on my shortlist.
If anyone can recommend a specific hotel/apartments too, like with a great pool or anything, all help appreciated.
Never done the family skiing and want it to be a success so they WANT to do it again!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Secret to success will be good ski school and accommodation VERY near the meeting place. You don't want to go anywhere where much walking around in ski boots will be required.
Are you thinking of a package or DIY? Flying, train or driving? Budget? Ages?
There aren't many places with guaranteed snow in second week of April, especially at resort level. And with kids, having snow to play in right outside the door is important.

An option would be the SFaB2024. There would definitely be snow there and lots of other people to socialise and ski with.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

As Origen says this will depend a lot on budget. The traditional high resorts for late season (close to Geneva) are Tignes/Val D’Isere, Val Thorens, Zermatt and Les Arcs. These are all big resorts, you’re more likely to find cheaper accommodation in Tignes or LA. VT is more of a party place than for young families but certainly high.
If conditions are decent lower down then Courchevel valley would be ideal for young family of beginners. 1650 has a large acquatic centre too.

+1 to recommend the SFaB - I've taken my family to this several times, and regret that it doesn't work for us this year or I'd be there.
I've been to Val Thorens in April many times over the last 20 years or so, it has always been good.

Saas Fee gets good reviews for this type of thing but I've not been.

We've booked Les Menuires (albeit for next year) - looks to be a great spot for families of all ages and being part of 3 valleys, there'll be some snow somewhere!

@St_johnse,
If not the Family Bash then further up the valley La Rosiere or Ste Foy (longer transfers than the Bash, though).

I'm doing the families bash this year - went a couple of years ago had a whale of a time! Loads of snow and lots of nice easy pistes for my (then 10 & 4yo). Now they're 12 & 7 and this will be their 3rd week. Lots of socialising with other kids (and their parents!), highly recommended!
