Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

You just need to get to Armentarola, from there taxi's run up to the lift.

I think (ha!) we took 29 to 13 to 15 to 16 to get to Prolongia. Then down to Armentarola from there. Stay skier's right at the bottom (getting eyes on the 12 rope tow might be helpful) and follow signs past the Armentarola to the ski bus stop.

On the reverse, you can take the 12 rope tow to get to the 11 lift which puts you up and back towards Corvara. I think we took the 7 lift back up to the ridge top then down from there.

It'll be way less confusing when you get there...

My preferred route -- Note : I was starting from Selva !

Take the Costes da l'ega (29) chair ; take the drag on right Capanna neera (13) ; take nxt drag Pralongia 1 (14) ; ski down to the nxt chair Pralongia (15) ; ski down to Pralongia 2 (16) ; from the top you are now skiing down to Armentarola. At Armentarola you take a bus or taxi ;
up the cable car to Laguzoi -- Hidden valley awaits Smile ---

The Horse Drag takes 5 to 7 mins, which isn't long, but can be a strain as you are concentrating on not falling and bringing everyone else down !!!!

you are now back at Armentarola ; Take the drag out of Armentarola, ski down to San Cassiano ; Bubble thingy out of San Cass ; ski down on the right to a spot where 3 lifts start ; take la branca chair (7) ; ski down a short way to the TOP of the Braia fraida (2) chair ( this is weird chair, as you have to get off half-way down !!) ; ski all the way down to Corvara ;

==================

Or
Col Alto bubble (1) - Braia Fraida (2) - Ciampai (9) or Biok ( 8 ) - then you are skiing down to Armentarola

 You'll need to Register first of course.

You could also: take Costes da l’ega, follow the signs (skiing) through the village to Col Alt gondola, take Col Alt, stay left to ski down to Braia Fraida chair, take run 14 to Ciampai chair, take 10A if open or ski towards Sorega and take 10 to the Armentarola turn. 10 is always open but 10A only when conditions are very good.

(Edited as I think 15 takes you to La Fraina, Bamby and La Villa and 14 takes you to Ciampai, La Brancia and Biok). Its no big deal because La Fraina will take you to Sorega, giving access to the start of 10.

Try this link to a Piste map of Alta Badia. Plenty of options.
https://piste-maps.co.uk/Piste-Maps/Italy/Alta-Badia-Piste-Map-2022.pdf

Zoom to any size you want to plan routes.

You should be able to get to Armentarola in about 1 hour, +20 minutes for the bus ride (allow for queues in the morning)

The hidden valley will take you 40 minutes to an hour at the most, so you might as well consider spending some time at Cinque Tori before heading down. Take the cable car, and then take the right fork and ski down towards the cable car station, but then take the left fork, over the road and down the valley.

Note, the hidden valley flattens out at the bottom. When you get to the frozen waterfall, it's on a steep section. There is another steep section shortly afterwards. Take as much speed as you can from that second section to avoid poling to the end.
40 minutes to an hour's easy skiing from Armentarola will see you back in Corvara.

What albob said... plus it's much clearer after a day or 2 skiing in alta badia, it's a bit of a maze of blues and lifts on the plateau, that's not so clear on a ski map, but after skiing there for a couple of days it starts to make sense.

Depending on what else you want to do.the hidden valley is also towards the end of the great war tour if you do it counterclockwise from Corvara. An enjoyable day of itself.
